My 100th post: Why I love to blog!

Do you know why I blog? Do you care? Well if you do, then here it is...

I started the blog because I had this super cute video of Chloe spitting out her food and laughing. I could not get it to attach to my e-mail and I had to share it, so Seth set up the blog.

I was not interested in becoming a "blogger", so what happened to change my mind?

Well, first of all I started noticing that lots of people I knew were blogging and I loved reading their blogs. I truly had never even looked at a blog before last August because I live in a cave. Once I discovered Blogland it was an easy decision to buy a vacation home and stay awhile.

I love blogging because I have gotten to know people that I am too shy to talk to in real life. I have also been able to connect with people who live far away that I don't call because of that pesky phone phobia I have told you about.

I love reading other people's blogs because people are so honest when it is just them and the computer. I love seeing who people really are. I love to hear about people's strengths, weaknesses, fears and accomplishments. So many of my blog friends are so DANG talented.

I love blogging because it is my social life. Don't laugh, I am serious! Most of the moms I know are running 10 different directions all day, so trying to coordinate play dates around nap times and school pick ups is tougher than it sounds (especially if you are afraid of the phone). I am not afraid of the computer though. I can check in on my friends and leave a comment and I feel like I have a life. That may sound pathetic but I love my little blogging circle.

Another reason blogging has stuck is because I never journal anymore. I used to fill a journal about once a month. I was a journal freak but I gave that up years ago. I wish I hadn't because I feel like I have lost moments of my life by not recording them. The blog makes me feel like I am capturing the moments again.

Another thing I don't do is scrapbook. I don't have pictures from my childhood because they all got thrown in a shoebox which is...somewhere??? We think??? I didn't want my kids to have that issue so I was a wannabe scrapper when Alyssa was a baby. I made her two books in her first year but I have not scrapped anything since Alex was born. The blog makes me feel less guilty about the memories that I am failing to preserve for my posterity.

And I guess the last reason I love to blog is because I like to talk and write. I used to write a lot more but again I gave that up years ago. This has been a fun way to express my thoughts and ideas in print again. And I can post as much as I want about anything I want and no one can complain because you don't have to read it.

Although...I think sometimes that some of you actually do read it because you leave me comments. Or maybe you are just leaving comments because you blog and you want to make sure I leave you a comment. I mean, let's be honest, it is all about the comments, right?

So while we are celebrating my love of blogging, let's have another look at that ridiculously cute video that started all this madness.
