Day 3: Sunday the 14th
Alyssa staked her claim on the hammock and read. She also found a little time for Charlie and Harley (the dogs).
I think Chloe was just wandering around pushing the toy lawn mower all day.
She was such a great hostess. I am ashamed to say that I am the worst hostess. She had several toy stations set up for the kids, and lots of yummy treats out for us to munch on. She made us so comfortable that we spent 3 hours chatting and chomping. My sisters teased me and said that I took my moms place as the big mouth of the night, but I hope I let Leslie get in a word in here and there too? We really enjoyed being there. I am so grateful for the way this silly little world of blogging has helped me reconnect and build friendships with my cousins. Thanks for having us over Leslie!
Another day down. I wish I was reliving these fun days rather than just posting about them.

I had a great time with you, and I thought we all talked and laughed and had fun together.
I love that you all came over and wish you could come over every Sunday. I wish the rest of my sisters could have been with us too because we are so much more fun all together than on our own. I told you we're getting shyer as we get older. I loved seeing yours and Valerie's kids. My kids now love your Mom and I love that they thought she was so much fun. I've always loved Aunt Susie and even told her if she were in my ward she'd be my best friend.
You all would. I hope to see your mom and Valerie and Kristen more often and hope they'll come by when they are in Temecula.
I hope you'll come see us again on your next trip to California. Erin still wants to plan a trip out to Chicago so we could see you then, too.
It's been so fun to get to know each other better through our blogs. I'm so glad you wanted to get together, Julie. It was a great weekend and having you and your sisters over felt like having my sisters over with their families. I loved it and can't wait to do it again.
Now you got me thinking of that chocolate cake!! Today is my first day without carbs or sugar...Lionel Richie better appreciate it, haha!!
I just looked at the group picture again and realized Luke was missing. Then I remembered what a little turd he was being about the pic and how he told us in the car he would go back and be in it so he could have a treat...
Oh what a fun trip. Leslie really is such a great hostess. We love going to her house, too. It sounds like you guys had so much fun together and I loved hearing all about you guys from Leslie and her girls.
Thankyou so much for all the kind comments you left on my blog. Happy Birthday to you, too. Heidi and I were both thinking about you on Thursday, too. Heidi was talking about how one year we all had a train cake and each of got a car of the train for our own cake. I didn't remember it, but maybe you do.
I can't wait to hear more about your trip and see more of your pictures.
Leslie, We had a great time, too. We were hoping you would call on Sunday because we were all being too shy to call. Your girls are awesome, and your home has such a warm and inviting feel. your girls would be great babysitters for Val's kiddos, once the baby is a little bigger. I do hope we make it a regular thing to get together when I am in town. Please do make that Chicago trip. That would be so much fun!
Val, the cake!!! But stick to your guns...Lionel will be sure to reward you with a HELLO. Poor Luke got booted from a few pictures. I think we should have gone back and asked them to take another with us so that Luke could get his dessert.
Catherine, How weird that you mentioned that cake. When I was in CA I was looking at old pictures taht Nonnie took. I saw that cake, but didn't remember it. My mom is not the cute cake making type and I wondered where this cute cake came from. Then I saw your name and Heidi's names on it too, and realized your mom must have made it. I know it is dorky, but I have always loved being b-day triplets. Maybe because then I didn't have to get all the attention. I think that is why I like Thanksgiving b-day years too. My b-day gets pushed aside for the holiday. I hope you and Heidi both had a great one. I was disappointed that Heidi couldn't make lunch. Leslie said her and Laurie almost came but couldn't make it. When's that darn reunion?

Ok, I want that treehouse and for myself not the kids. The hammock would have to be part of it, too. Of course, having such a place for myself wouldn't be wise in SD. I'd only get to use like never. It looks like the kids were in heaven. And, Leslie does sound like a wonderful hostess. Now I feel rotten about all the times I had you guys over and just told all the kids to beat it.
Katie, I wish you'd been in CA. You could have joined us for cousins lunch.
Cheryl, The treehouse is pretty dang cool. My kids want one but we don't have the right kind of tree for it, or the right kind of yard, or the right kind of weather for that matter. Bummer!
Jen, I know what you mean about inviting people over. I just send the kids to run amuck and never even bother to offer a drink to anyone, unless it is an official "party". I need to step up my game. I assume people will tell me if they are thirsty or in need of refreshment. Maybe that's why I have so few friends. They suffer from hunger, thirst, and un-entertained kids at my house?
Okay, I'm so understanding why there are so many people in CA now. It sounds like paradise, and since it was a toasty 7 degrees here for Thanksgiving, I'm ready to move there. Especially if I can get adopted into your fam--so fun! I thought of you on your b-day, but alas, somehow didn't make it to a phone--sorry! Hope it was great!
PS-People make plans for kids at a get together? How 'bout that? :o)
PPS-I never suffered for anything at your house--you're a great hostess, and you earn extra points for not kicking us out even with puking kids!
