Valerie has been dying to take me to a sci-fi/fantasy store in Hollywood called Whimsic Alley. You all know how I feel about fantasy, but this store is mostly devoted to Harry Potter so I figured I could handle it. I did not realize everyone but us would be in full costume, but okay. Valerie put on this Dobby mask and came walking up on her knees calling us Master.
Alyssa was really excited for this outing. She doesn't really fit in with the kids, but she is a little young to hang out with the adults most of the time so I was always excited when there was something that she wanted to do. I think she was even more excited that Alex, Luke and Chloe went to Boomers with Seth and Steven so she had some time to do something just for her. We even got a few smiles out of her including this one where her and Kris masked up and struck a pose.

They have the Great Hall and they rent it out. It was being set up for a party so we couldn't go in, but we did get to take a peek.
We brought home two 4 packs of butterbeer but it was way too sweet. Kristen also got Alyssa a necklace with the golden snitch on it. We also found a cute cookie shop called Milk Jar cookies and got suckered into buying a dozen cookies at $3 a piece, but I do love cookies so money spent on cookies never causes me any guilt.
One night we went out on the company yacht to eat dinner and look at Christmas lights. The kids acted like animals. In the summer they can swim and hang out on the front or back of the boat but in the dark we wanted them inside and they ran amuck, tearing up bedrooms and creating havoc but they seemed to have fun.
Glenn's mom, Grandma Teddie joined us and brought Christmas presents as well.
I took a picture of Chloe and Kelly sitting in the window and then all the kids wanted that same shot.
Alex was probably too big but he wanted a turn too.
Then Chloe had a meltdown when she didn't get the position in this picture that she wanted.
So we kicked her out of the shot.
Everyone was nice enough to stage a redo once she got her head on straight and apologized to everyone.
And now I really am going to hang it up for the night. I am starting to remember why I loved blogging and why I quit doing it at the same time.

I wish we got pics of Milk Jar cookie shop...that was the cutest place ever!
See, I never take cameras into stores, but look at all the fun kinds of things I miss out on - well, probably not, because Costco doesn't have cool kinds of things to take pictures of. And the yaht! What a fun way to look at lights!
What an awesome store! I totally want to go there. We tried butter beer at Universal Studios, and it was too sweet/rich for me, too. Glad I got to see what all the fuss was about though.
The company yacht, huh? Mike's thinking of getting one of those for his practice. ;)
oh i love that store! has Alex read the books? I'm wondering what age they are appropriate! Can't wait for Maddy to dig into it. What a fun trip down memory lane.
