On to Christmas Day.
Most of the adults sit out and watch kids open gifts but Valerie was buzzing around the tree looking for gifts with the kiddos and when she opens a gift, clear the room, because it is going to get loud. That's why we love Valerie. Her enthusiasm is contagious, or at least highly amusing.
There is Dave, who is celebrating his birthday today. Happy Birthday Dave!
Kristen and Niki...apparently we all have a thing for bearded men in my family.
Our big gift this year was flights to CA, but my mom and Glenn got us our Six Flags passes again as well and between aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents, there was still plenty to open under the tree.
My dad sent this castle. You build it like Legos, only you have to first cast the bricks in molds before you can build. Sounds a bit messy, but we are excited to try it.
After gifts and breakfast, Valerie and Kristen had to leave to spend time with Dave and Niki's families, so there were just a few of us for the rest of the day and the only thing the kids wanted to do was suit up and go to the beach.
When you are lacking snow, sand angels work just as well.

Wow, 2 Christmas'! The kids all look like they are having a blast. I'm sure a Christmas with your family is something else...haha. Ack...beach pictures. I just can't look at them today. Glad you had fun though:)
How fun to be able to go to the beach on Christmas day! It seems strange to me to see photos of a huge community Christmas tree with the ocean behind, because, of course, that would never happen here - in the first place we're in the middle of a dessert a long way from the ocean. In the second, that is a high mountain dessert which means all we get, in a good year, is the white stuff to do the snow angels with. Looks like there were enough gifts I hope you brought an extra suitcase to bring them all home with! Oh, and, yes, I am just that interested! Thanks for posting!
We spent several years in Mexico on the beach...it is so much nicer than the snow! and thecold. Looks like your trip was so fun all over. You're a trooper packing all that to and fro!
