T-Shirt Contest

Months before we went to the beach house my sister suggested that we have a contest to design a t-shirt for the trip and I won! Nevermind that my mom was the only other person who actually submitted anything. I came up with the winning concept but did not have the talent to bring it to life so I hired my friend Jaci (who happens to be one of my cute 12 year old Beehives) to draw it for me. She did an amazing job!

I gave her a picture of the treats we get every night from our favorite island treat shop, Dad's, and she brought them to life.

Design one was for the adults, a Balboa Bar and a Frozen Banana romance.
 
 I fell in love with that cute thing right away but Jaci and I both agreed that it was too feminine for the men so she whipped out something new for them.  Surfing banana man.

And for the kids I wanted the hippo sugar cookies that are famous on the island and I did not want them cartoony. I wanted them exactly like the ones we eat. Jaci nailed it!



So on Monday morning we had a family photo shoot and for a few poses we wore our cute shirts. The pics aren't ready yet but I did take a snapshot of the kids in their hippo shirts so I could send it in to Dad's (they hang pics of people eating hippo cookies on the wall).  As you can see, Jaci's drawing was dead on. The kids were excited to find that they were even the same size as a real hippo cookie.

I can't wait to see all the shots the photographer got.  They should be here any day now.  We also had lots more fun on Monday after pictures were done.  I may have even taken more pictures than the photog so there is still much more Monday coming.
