On the 24th of July Seth worked in the SL office again. Since the 24th is a holiday in Utah we watched the Days of 47 parade on TV and then swam at Grandpa Bob's pool until it rained on us. In the afternoon we headed over to Liberty Park for the fireworks show. We grabbed a spot on the hill and set up camp. We had dinner, played cornhole, the kids sold glow sticks for 50 cents a piece and made $30 in about 20 minutes, which they promptly spent on treats. The fireworks show was really short and unimpressive, which made us laugh since a billion people sat out waiting for it all day. But we still had such a fun evening, hanging out in the summer heat and playing with family so it was all good.

Four of the five kids in Seth's family had baby girls at the same time so now we have 4 blonde haired blue eyed little divas running around. We saw all of them but unfortunately never all 4 at the same time, but here are 3 of them.
I love to watch Alex and Olive together. They are both mild mannered peace maker types and they play so well together. On the 24th they kept finding new ways to chain themselves together with glow sticks.
Emily spent a good portion of the night photobombing and here is one of her better bombs.

We didn't know where the fireworks would be but the hill was packed and seemed like a good viewing point but as you can see our view was partially obstructed by a tree. The people left of us on the hill could not see anything so they all started moving during the show and stepping all over us. Like I said, the show left something to be desired but the night was awesome so we all just laughed it off.
After anticipating the show all evening when it finally started, Ellie decided it was bedtime.
Sarah and her kids flew home to TN early the next morning, after a month in UT, but we were so glad to overlap a little bit and to have this fun night celebrating with cousins.

Selling glowsticks! That is awesome. And what a profit too. Did you buy them at the dollar store? Lol. That is so funny people bought them too! Wow Emily is a photo bomber-priceless:)
12 hours on the road should give you plenty of time to get caught up to the week in Cali, haha!
I will have to call you on Monday. I'm losing it about sending Luke to school. Dave won't let me homeschool and all the part-time charter schools are full...ugh!! I know you can relate.
Makinzee, There were several adults selling glow sticks for $2 a piece. The kids had the best price in town and cleared their inventory in no time. They sold 60 sticks which only cost $4 in the target dollar spot.
Val, I am the wrong person to cheer you up because you know how I feel about sending the geeks to school. Alyssa's first day was the worst but thankfully Luke will have half day to ease in to things. I am still bitter that WI does all day Kindergarten. I would homeschool too if Seth let me but I don't think I'd be good at it so it is probably best that I don't. Those half homeschool half charter schools you were telling me about sound awesome. Maybe get him wait listed.
What a great night-even if the firework show was a bit lame. :) I love that they sold them. Smart. Alex looks so cute in all the pictures chained to his cousin. I just posted a comment about how Alyssa reminds me of Kaden, and Everytime you post about Alex, I think of Ryder. I know it's part personality, but it gets me wondering about birth order as well. :)
Cute. I miss those firework shows with family when the highlight really isn't the show but the playing that goes on beforehand. That photo bomb is hilarious.
