A Visit From Auntie Em: Day 4

When Emily booked her flights I was so excited that she would be here over Father's Day weekend because that is Dairy Breakfast weekend and the Dairy Breakfast is so Wisconsin.  We were excited to share it with her.

Here we are on day 4 and Seth had told me to take pictures of someone else every time the camera was out, so Emily grabbed him and we made him take a sibling pic.

Loved these milk jugs in the farmer's yard.

This barn was really clean and they didn't have us on haystack benches this year which didn't feel as rustic but was also good because Griffin was having some allergy issues.

This is the first farm we have been to where they had barrel train rides.  Fun!

Foot driving for Al and no pic of Alyssa because she decided she was too big to ride.


This was also the first year where they let us upstairs in one of the barns and had a viewing window so we could watch them milk cows.

Then we went downstairs for another view and the farmers were coming in and out of the milking room with cow poop all over their boots and pants.  There is something so magical about being on a farm and yet I know I could never live that life.  Anyway, remember this old post when Alex said Emily kissed him too much?  So of course she had to tease him with a kissing pic.  Look at that sweet kissable face.  Can you blame her?

We met up with our new to WI friends, the Bostons and Chloe was happy to see her friend, Lil.






The cows were all lazy and overfed by the time we got to them but Miss Alyssa the animal whisperer was able to get one of them to play with her.





After the DB we planned on the Farmers Market but Griffin was ready for a nap and Chloe had a meltdown so we made her take a nap as well.  After the little ones woke up we had dinner and then walked around by the lake and over to the ice cream shop for dessert.  Here are a few pictures of one of my favorite places in the whole world.






I wanted one good cousins pic but it was bright and the kids were not happy about it.


I finally just zoomed up on Alex since he didn't seem as bothered by the sun.



Since I am a glutton for punishment I found a shady spot and decided to try again for a cousins pic.  I started with just my kids to make sure I had the exposure right.  Yes, I am still refusing to put the camera on AUTO and I am determined to figure this thing out, although I admit that I am still using the little point and shoot pretty often too, just for the sake of convenience.

Then we threw Griffin in to the mix and after many attempts this was our best one.
