First I thought I'd show you a minor Chloe tantrum caught on film. I put her hair up in piggytails, all the way up. Not just the front, so I wanted a picture. She didn't.
She hid in the closet.
And pouted.
And hid behind a pillow.
And in her shirt.
When I was thoroughly amused, I told her if she wanted to go to lunch I needed a picture.
Once the control was in her hands, she said "CHEEEEESE, now let's go Mommy...." I love that kid. And I got a picture of the piggytails.
We went to lunch at Rainforest Cafe on Wednesday because it was half day at school. My kids love it there but I think the food is disgraceful and overpriced. For the same price, I could eat Cheesecake Factory, and I'd rather. Once in awhile though, I will give in.

Why is Alyssa wearing Seth's fishing hat? Beats me, but I just let it be. Looks like Chloe was wondering the same thing.
Chloe was terrified of looking at the monkeys so she came to sit on my lap, and Alex was afraid of the monkeys being behind him and came unglued everytime they moved or made noise. He asked to go sit by Alyssa on the other side of the table, and pulled his chair up as close as it would go to hers.
He looks like my Grandma King in this picture, mildly paranoid.
Too bad this one is fuzzy, I think they look so sweet.
The food stunk, as usual, but my kids ate every bite of their meal and were very well behaved and grateful, so all was well in the end.
Then we rode the carousel in the mall, which is hard to photograph when you are on the ride, trying not to leave your toddler unattended, and dizzy! I am too old for the merry go round.
Here is another little glimpse into our week. One day after drying my hair, I came into the living room to find my furniture rearranged, and two little goofballs playing train.

I loved watching them! Everyone always feels bad for the middle child, but I don't. For years it was Alex and Alyssa, my little duo. And now it is Chloe and Alex. The middle child gets to be buddies with everyone. How fun!
I think those are my only pictures, but here are just a couple picture free moments that I want to remember.
Alyssa got sick on the way home from school yesterday and needed a bathroom. She told the bus driver and she drove her straight home and then had to backtrack through her regular route to get the other kids home. Alyssa told the bus driver she could hold it, but it hurts when you are stuck in a car with digestive issues (don't lie, we've all been there) and it meant a lot to me that the bus driver went out of her way to take care of my baby.
And only one more for now. Every night I go in and see my kids before I go to bed. They are already long since asleep, but once in awhile I will strike motherhood gold and one of them will talk to me in their sleep. I love sleep talking. The other night I was kneeling by Alex's bed to give him a kiss and pull up his blankets when he began to mumble. Then he fumbled under his pillow and pulled out a picture of me holding him as a baby and said, "I love you Mommy". He tucked the picture away again and snoozed away. He had a picture of us under his pillow. That may be the cutest thing ever, to me.
And that is how my week has been.
Oh, and after 6 months Seth finally shaved his beard and it took me two days to notice. Is that awful? He usually has a goatee and so he just looked normal to me when the goatee came back and the rest of it went. The beard was kind of hot, but I love the goatee. LOVE IT! I have often said that I will cry my head off if he ever shaves it. The goatee is very important to me.

Very cute pictures....I also like facial hair, but Corey can't stand it for very long. I guess I understand. If he liked hairy legs I don't know if I could grow them out just for him...
I cannot believe that you like beards and goatees!! I was just telling Dave that he looks like a piece of poo with a hat on just to get him to shave his mustache and goatee.
I don't even know what to say about Al with the picture under his pillow, that is the sweetest thing EVER!
That is cool that Alyssa was assertive enough to tell the bus driver she was sick. I would have been embarrassed (and we all know you would have been too).

The picture of Chloe smiling with her pigtails reminds of Michelle's little girl Lilly. It's funny how those little resemblances show up sometimes.

Back in the 80s Brent sported a full beard for the longest time. I did not notice when he shaved it off, either. Not sure why. It was so smooth after, and he smelled so good...
Loved the tantrum caught in a picture story, by the way. That's way good Momma Blackmail stuff! (Fun to see her hair growing long enough to get into pigtails now, too.)
Cheryl and Kory, Seth likes the goatee, and the beard. He has had it for our whole marriage so I think he is used to it. He doesn't do it just for me, I don't think. I could maybe quit shaving my legs if Seth asked. I hate shaving my legs. :)
Valerie, some people look better with facial hair, as long as it's not a 1980's cop mustache. I like your loving and gentle approach for getting Dave to shave though. Ha,Ha! I definitely wouldn't have told the bus driver I was sick. I was shocked that she did. The bus driver announced it over the speaker so the other kids would know why she was skipping their stops. Alyssa wasn't even embarrassed and neighborhood kids were coming by the house to see if she felt better. Sometimes she surprises me.
Catherine, How funny that Chloe resembles Michelle's little girl. We are always trying to figure out who Chloe looks like. She looks nothing like my baby pictures or Seth's. It is pretty fun to see who all these little ones end up looking like. I love seeing all the kids of the Renouf cousins because some of them remind me so much of you guys when you were little.

What great Mom moments you have there! The pigtails look really cute on her with her little curls! That train is awesome...totally something I could see Zack doing. Alissa loves rainforest cafe, but no one else does. I agree, the food isnt very good, and my other kids get scared when it makes thunder noises. I like Ryan with scruff too, but of course he will never do it. What a great week for you! Yeah!

Sometimes I wish i could come be one of your kids. Do Alex and Chloe really play good together? James and Macy fight and scream at each other all morning long and I don't know what to do. Samm and James have always played together so well that I just assumed Macy and james would play together too, but I'm lucky if they tolerate each other. It makes me so sad and want to rip my hair out.
Sally, Chloe and Alex have just recently started to play together. Before that they mostly ignored each other. Alex and Alyssa used to fight though. It took a long time before Alyssa warmed up to the idea of having siblings. James and Macy will probably get really close right before Kindergarten starts and then he is gone all day. Isn't that how it always works?
I wish we could've hung out with you guys on the half day, but it sure looks like you had plenty of fun without us. Ha, the train idea is brilliant and hilarious. I was with you when you agonized over buying those shirts Chloe is wearing. Yet, she is tutu-free, i.e., the whole purpose of purchasing those shirts. She still looks adorable though even in her not happy and hiding pictures.
