Escape to the Dells

Sometime in the late winter/early spring, Seth came home from work and said, "let's go to the Dells for a few days." We didn't think or plan. I canceled seminary for a couple days and we just went. We stayed at Kalahari, which is where we stayed the first time we went to the Dells 8 years ago. I did have to stay up while everyone else was sleeping every night and do school work, but other than that it was perfect.

I am sure some of these pics are not really worth looking at, but I don't feel like being selective right now. I am just going to dump them. Kalahari has a waterpark and an indoor theme park, so we will be in and out and all over the place. Our favorite thing in the indoor park was the race cars, but since we were all always on them, we never got a picture. No worries, there is plenty to see.
 
If you are squinting and wondering if Seth got a tattoo, the answer is yes, he did. 










 
The kids went on the ropes course about a million times. The first time I said I would go with Chloe on the lower level course. I only made it across two elements before I had to hurry back to lower ground. 



















 
They have an indoor/outdoor hot tub and when we went outside we couldn't even see each other because of the steam. It was 30 below, so brr! 
 
These two crazies kept getting in and out of the tub.






 
I have a video of Alex and Alyssa going on this slide that drops straight down after the floor falls out from under you. Alex loved it. Alyssa was not a fan.  
Chloe insisted that we take some pictures of the themed booths at Monk's.


 
I don't play lazer tag, because when I do the only person I shoot is myself in the mirror. 

















 
Chloe mostly stayed on the lower portion of the ropes course. Even the lower course was too high for me, but on the last day she decided to go to the top. And then she got scared...
 
She cried for a minute...but she made it all the way across. 



 
While we were checking out of the hotel, they had some baby tigers in the lobby. You could pay to have your picture taken holding one of them. All of the pictures on display were of tiny little 3 week old tigers, but the one they brought us was this big 4 months old guy. He was not about to let some kids hold him, but they did get to pet him and then stuff a bottle in his mouth for the picture. I get annoyed when you pay for opportunities and they are nothing like the one advertised, but the kids actually liked that he was older and Alyssa thought it was cool to get to feed him.

 
 Only 6 people fit in the virtual shooting ride, so we were able to ride it alone and take the top 5 spots. I thought I was pretty good, but Seth killed me and Alyssa edged me out as well.
 
And that concludes our impromptu trip to the Dells.
