I just typed the draft of my paper that is due in 20 minutes. That was cutting it close, but it's turned in so phew! And since I have dragged you in to my ongoing paper writing drama, I guess I will update you on my third paper. I finally cracked the 96 percent point and got a 98. All my friends who have different instructors got 100 but I am really trying to shelve my pride and be happy with 98. She still didn't like anything about it, except for the title again. Maybe I should be a professional title writer? I had fun writing that paper so whatever. It was about whether or not classic literature with suggestive content should be taught in church schools. Of course I said that it should. I focused on the roles of knowledge and opposition in God's plan and paralleled the way the scriptures teach with the messages in classic works. Anyway, she laughed out loud (her feedback is audio) at my thesis because it was a long sentence but for the most part she was far less critical than usual. What she marked me down on was for a missing comma and using the word "which" where she would have "preferred" the word "that". I have re-read the sentence a million times; I still "prefer" which. She also docked me on formatting for having a little extra space between paragraphs. It was so minimal that I did not even notice. She actually corrected that in my last paper as well, but she took a week longer than she is allotted to grade that one so I did not get it back until this one had been submitted or I would have fixed it. This time she even said the words, "I am being nit picky here". You think? My newest paper is a persuasive paper and I am writing it on adding synchronized skating to the Olympics. My peer group said it was not as personal as my usual work, but that is why I chose it. I am trying to get away from my "dramatic", "emotional", "poetic" voice that has rubbed my teacher the wrong way all semester. We'll see if it makes any difference?
Anyway, the point of this post is to catch up on Fathers Day weekend. As usual, we went to the Dairy Breakfast. Dan actually drove up on Friday night and took took the kids to Texas Roadhouse and How to Train Your Dragon 2 while Seth and I went out. We talked him in to staying the night and joining us for the Dairy Breakfast on Saturday. The event is a little different every year. This particular farm didn't have much in the way of activities and entertainment and it was record breakingly crowded so they skimped on the food portions but it was a gorgeous sunny day and we enjoyed just hanging out with family as well as the friends we met in line.
Alyssa is always happy when she is in close proximity to animals.
They had cotton seed pits instead of the usual soybeans this year.
We had a lady take a group picture by the sign but apparently she did not actually take it since it was nowhere to be found on my camera. Luckily Seth took one of Dan with the kids to add to our signage pics from each year.
I did not take any pictures on Fathers Day, but Alyssa cooked breakfast for Seth all by herself and we hooked him up with gifts. He got two new Brewers hats, a Brewers lidded cup, and the Garmin vivofit, which is like my fitbit but displays the time as well as goal info on the band instead of on the phone app. I think I still like mine better because it has more info and options on the app. It does not have the display screen but most people are usually within arms reach of their phone anyway, so no real loss there.
And here's a funny Fathers Day story. I bring my Sunday School kids birthday treats of their choosing. A couple months ago, one of the boys asked for pepperoni pizza. Yeah, right! How could I pull that off? The kids kept talking about it though so I finally decided we would do it, and call it a graduation, moving to college, leaving on a mission party for our Seniors. So Fathers Day was the day. I baked Papa Murphy's pizzas at home and had them in the car waiting. Just as we were heading out to party, the Stake President popped in and asked if he could sit in on our lesson. We all just burst out laughing. Thankfully he was extremely cool about the whole thing, but I am not sure we'll do it again, or at least not on a day when the SP is in his home ward. Ha,ha!
Alright, I think that will be all for now.

That's funny about the pizza's. Of course that is the day that he would be there to sit in. :)
I hope someday you will post all your papers on here because I would love to read them.
I agree with Cheryl! I would love to read your papers.
