Kindergarten Graduation and Other Last Day Celebrations

I can't believe it is already summer break! Usually I am counting down for months but this time it snuck right up on me. I guess it is because I still have 7 weeks of school left, which should be fun to try to get done with all the monkeys at home, while training for a job. During the next few weeks I have days where I have to be at two or three places at the same time and Alyssa gone at Girls Camp one week so I won't even have my helper. My summer has never been like that before, but we'll get through it.

Yesterday we had our usual last day of school fun, but also Chloe's Kindergarten graduation. Yes, they do Kindergarten graduation and yes, it is silly. But it is also cute.

We have never put a curling iron or curlers anywhere near Chloe's hair but she wanted to sleep in curling rods so we gave it a try. We woke up late so when we left for school she still looked like a pretty little lion.
 
I promise Alex has more than one shirt. They are just all Batman themed. We just went shopping for summer clothes and he picked two more Batman shirts.  It is his uniform apparently.

 
By the time Chloe got to school her hair looked a lot more natural. In fact, it looked just like her hair used to look naturally. :(  So sad to see those natural curls disappearing.  They put on a concert with some fun Kindergarten songs and I heard my third and final rendition of Goodbye Kindergarten, Movin' on to 1st Grade.
 
Since Alyssa's Kindergarten graduation predates blogging, I thought I'd throw in a few pictures from the Kindergarten class of 2008. Also, did you know that Alyssa graduates High School in 2020? I realized that when she was born and told Seth I had the perfect slogan for their class...Class of 2020-A Perfect Vision For the Future. Good, right? Seth says everyone is going to think of that, but just remember that I thought of it the day she was born.




 
While Chloe is the tallest in her class, Alyssa was by far the shortest.

Chloe with Mrs. Adams, who was also Alex's teacher. Speaking of Alex, his Kinder Grad is on the blog, so let's stroll over there for a minute too, shall we? I didn't even remember that my hair was short 3 years ago. 

After school we went for ice cream and brought Al's buddy Nate. He also made a new friend, Campbell this year and his mom tracked me down after school to trade numbers and introduce herself, so I invited her and her boys to join us as well. Then while we were there we ran in to some of Chloe's friends and Chloe was going up to all the parents and asking them to please go give their numbers to me so that she could call them this summer, and because she is Chloe, people just do whatever she tells them to. I do hope she learns to use her powers responsibly.

And that is a wrap on the 2013-14 school year! Wow, that one really flew!
