Christmas Tree, Christmas Concert, and a New Look

Since I was not in town on the 1st, I never got any kind of activity advent going and now Christmas is sneaking right up and we have nary a merry moment to show for it. I am thinking I will start a 12 days of Christmas countdown today to see if we can hurry and inject some Christmas cheer before the season is gone.

But so far we have only two Christmasy events to tell of.

One, we cut our tree down last weekend. My pictures were all coming out super blurry and I thought something was seriously wrong with my camera so I put it away and decided to deal with it later, so I only have a few blurry shots and no tree decorating pictures. We do not even have our new ornament yet because we didn't like any of the ones we saw when we went looking and the kids each wanted their own (TKD, skating, princess) and that was $80 so I didn't buy those either, but at least the tree is up. That's a start, right?






Oh and thankfully when I finally sat down to mess with the camera I noticed that the focus button had been switched to manual so that was an easy fix. I use the other manual settings but for focus I still leave it in auto so I never even look at that switch. I am glad I noticed it and that it was not anything that required repairs.

Aside from the tree our only other Christmas event was Chloe's Preschool Christmas program. Our last one. :( When I took her shopping she insisted on a gold sequins skirt. I tried and tried to talk her out of it but she is not easily ever persuaded once she makes up her mind. She also decided that straight hair would look good with her outfit. I never ever straighten her hair because I love the curls but again, she had made up her mind. She loved her new look and spent at least an hour posing in the mirror. When I asked if I could take a picture she immediately started posing and just kept posing for 10 minutes and we were cracking up and snapping away. I think she would have gone on all night but we had to go. But here are just a few of the many shots of her walk down the runway.





















I know, that was a lot of pics, but I narrowed it down as much as I could. As always, no one posed her, and as usual, she cracks me up! Pretty though, right? Katie, are you reading this? Me and Val both think there is something about her that looks like you and your sisters and I can really see it in a few of those shots.

Taking pics at the program was a little bit tricky since she was blocked by other kids. We have never had a back row kid before.  Alex is always mid-row and Alyssa is always the last little tiny thing to file out on to the stage.



Chloe slept with her straight hair and did not get it wet so that she could wear it straight again today, but when she woke up the bottoms were all curling up again. I love those curls!

And now I need to go figure out what the first day of Christmas countdown will bring.
