1- We got our new AC! After a handful of professional opinions the consensus was that it was in fact irreparable. Apparently that model has about a 15 year life expectancy and it was 18 years old so a new unit, or no AC were the only options. I campaigned for no AC until next Summer. It is still barely in the 70's and I personally don't like my house to be below 76 degrees anyway. Seth didn't mind the heat in the house but wanted AC to help cut the humidity since we were emptying our dehumidifier every single day. So our Florida trip has now taken the form of a shiny new air conditioning unit. We did opt not to get a new furnace though because ours still blows hot air and I am not big on replacing things that work.
2- Alyssa is now officially training wheel free. Yes, we took them off last Summer but someone still had to run alongside her bike while she rode. Not anymore.
3- Seth, Mr. Facebook is lame himself joined FB. Years ago I said I might sign up to keep in touch with my friends who first moved away from Wisconsin and then moved away from their blogs. I never did it because as much as I want to stay in touch with some people, you also know I have social anxiety issues and running into people I haven't seen in awhile puts me over the edge. Anyway, when I even suggested joining, Seth made it clear that he had no interest in FB. Kind of surprised me because Seth is a very social person, but whatever, we became the last of the FB holdouts, and now I stand alone. But even though I feel thoroughly betrayed (kidding!) feel free to request Seth as a friend since he is kind of a loner so far.
Other than that it is same old same old around here. Bike rides, park visits, library trips, music lessons, tae kwon do, taking walks, playing with neighbors, Six Flags. And speaking of Six Flags, I better go because me and the kids are heading over right now. I was actually hoping to get to the beach today but so far we haven't had good beach temps. Hopefully this weekend...

Yipee for a new AC! Im glad my Alissa isnt the only on who still had training wheels in Kindergrten. All her friends rode by today and she was so embarrassed because they all rode without them! So Yipee for getting training wheels off as well! And I sent Seth a friend request, but he has yet to accept it. Ahhh, the rejection of FB. Sure you dont want to join? (:

Heather, I didn't ride a bike until 6th grade. My kids are slow but I was lame-o. Seth hasn't even looked at FB again since he signed up so I logged on and accepted his friend requests for him. Now that I have seen the mysterious FB in person I have to say that I find it jumbled and obnoxious. I think blogging suits me better where I can use a million words if I want to and all the comments stay married to their respective post. I suppose you get used to it but I find it annoying to look at. I guess if I start feeling nosy or lonely I can spy on people through Seth's account now but I SO wish everyone would just come back to blogging.
Katie, I still have my fingers crossed that FL may happen in December of 2012 but not holding my breath. That is life though, right?
don't you just love those unexpected costs? Ours usually comes in the form of car stuff. At least you have lots you can do around there as a family. Wish we had a amusement park close for season passes. I would be there all the time.
I saw Seth was on there and was surprised. I put in a friend request for him today.
I like facebook for keeping in touch. There are some family members that I would never be able to talk to if it wasn't for Facebook... although sometimes I know TOO much about them and everyone else.
I like it but I like blogging much better.
That is great you have your AC back but I feel bad that you can't take your florida trip now. That sucks. Maybe next year?
Yay Alyssa! Way to go. I haven't even thought of taking the training wheels off of Abi's yet. I like the added protection.

I have run the gamut with FB. Got way too involved and now just check it about once a day to see what's going on - usually not much. What I really like with FB is the ease of uploading photos and sharing them. So I keep using it for that. I think you'd like that, too.

Just a quick drop-in to say hi and wishing the best for you guys this summer. We got back from SD tonight after spending 3 days there helping with practice stuff. We are INSANELY busy right now working until 10pm each night. There are way too many details to think about. I'm getting another headache thinking about everything again. Will be heading back next Wednesday to help with the open house scheduled on Thursday.
Looks like you are staying busy and congrats to Alyssa for finally getting off those extra wheels. She'll be able to enjoy the summer more now with her free-wheeling ways.
I actually have a favor to ask of you. Remember that ice show dvd I ordered, it came in. Which means...well, I'll call you sometime because we really need to catch up anyway.

As for FB. I spent a lot of time on FB and then finally decided I had no willpower and because of my personality of all or nothing I knew I had to go nothing. I haven't missed FB too much. Funny enough, Kjel, Mr. Unsocial regularly checks in on FB. He types nothing but he keeps up on what is going on with everybody. Makes me chuckle.
