Alright, so I have had an idea spinning around in my head, but have been afraid to pull the trigger. What if no one likes it but me, or what if no one even wants to play with me? Oh the insecurities that were supposed to go away after Junior High.
Remember though, that this is supposed to be the year that I act, so I think I will put this idea out there and then I will feel obligated to follow through with it. I am up to my eyelashes planning and preparing for the upcoming Primary activity, so I am sitting here trying to make excuses to avoid posting this, but I don't want to make excuses. I want to act.
I have noticed lots of recent blog posts from fellow Wisconsinites who are cold and lonely this winter. This is crazy. Maybe we would feel warmer, or at least less lonely, if we played together.
So, my idea is to have a Warm Up Wisconsin Winter ladie's night. We could have treats that cheer us up in the winter and play games.
I also found inspiration in a really cheesy sweatshirt with three kittens on it, the other day at Ikea. The wearer of the sweatshirt paired it with a patterned turtleneck playing peek-a-boo over the top, for my enjoyment. I thought we could all wear the cheesiest winter wear we could find, and just have a few laughs. What do you think local ladies?
Would you come? Or would I be trying too hard to get my foot in with the popular kids?

You know I'd be there. I'll even offer up my place. Not sure if I have any cheesy sweaters though. I may have to make a trip to the GW.
I'm not a Wisconsinite, but a Wyomingite is awfully darn close, so can I come? My cheesiest sweatshirt says "My Grandkids are Beary Special" and it has a bear on it. Would that work for you? Don't know if my boss would appreciate me being gong AGAIN, but maybe I could call in sick and fly out there. Maybe your mom could meet me and we'd travel together--what do you think Susie? Can you tell I really want to see those kids (oh yeah--and you and Seth too)? Tony and I are ready to hitch up the fifth-wheel and just go. Are you in?? We are SO tired of this very strange winter!
I would come if we weren't so seperated. I am sure I could come up with a dazzling outfit. Where did I put all those horrible turtlenecks I used to wear. I think it is a cute idea.
Kristen and her buds had a bunco night with a cheesy winter sweatshirt theme. She actually looked cute in hers though (of course).
As for the sweatshirt you saw at Ikea, I swear I know the lady. I had no idea she was all the way in Wisconsin though.
So I have two takers, at least two local takers and Jen even wants us to come mess up her house instead of mine, although if we are at your house I have a sneaking suspicion that your kids, my kids, and our husbands will be at my house. So either way I think both houses will end up messy. I have a Tigger swaeter but I am up for looking for something even dorkier at the Goodwill.
And those of you who aren't local, are certainly invited to make the drive.
Val, why am I not surprised that Kristen looked cute in her attempt at dorkiness. She could make anything look good. She told me about her Bunco party on Christmas morning and I have been looking for an excuse to steal the sweater idea. When I saw those kitties I realized that I couldn't wait until next Christmas to get my hands on one. I wish you could come. I would let you borrow Seth's Tigger shirt since I know how fond you are of it.

Great idea! Think I'll go to Florida and the Bahamas instead, but only because that's already in the works. I will be waiting to see pictures of all the great sweaters! Ladies, do not disappoint me. - Auntie J

And Heather is in too, so now we're cooking. And LeShel, no backing out. Why is it that we are all totally comfortable bearing our souls on the blogs but nervous to sit down and talk about the weather in person? I think you are hilarious and very easy to talk to and you are coming. I will make Heather pick you up and drag you in your jammies if I have to.
Now to set a date...
I want to come! And I definitely agree that getting together really does make you feel warmer somehow. I would totally come if I were closer. Girls nights are so fun and I am realizing that lots of people want to do them but it takes someone stepping up and being brave and actually doing it! Go for it Julie! And then post about it so I can enjoy it vicariously! I love my memories of the girls nights that we had in Wisconsin!
I might be able to swing it depending on when. I don't know what ben has coming up. this week is busy busy for him. I don't know if you all can handle my craziness lol.
