One more new theme, if you aren't sick of them yet. This one requires a little background info...about tattoos. Valerie knows where this is going and she is probably mocking me already. Let's fill the rest of you in so you can join her.
I do not have any tattoos but once upon a long time ago I considered getting one.
A few years ago this topic came up and my sisters asked me what I would have gotten. Sometimes I should really keep my mouth shut. I told them that I would have chosen Pete's Dragon with his head on my shoulder blade and his body on my lower back. He would not have taken up my whole back. His head and body would have been separate since sometimes he appeared in pieces. Or I would have chosen Mary Poppins' hat.
At first I got blank stares, followed by fits of laughter.
I explained.
I don't even like those movies. Pete's Dragon is okay, Mary Poppins is torture, but I like the idea. I know there have been people in my life who were placed there because I really needed them in that moment. When the winds changed they were taken another way. Some were there for years, some for only a moment. Even in a moment you can change someones life in a way that is as permanent as a tattoo.
I am easily the sappiest member of my family so I took a lot of abuse for admitting this out loud. Valerie even went in and woke up Kristen to tell her. Kristen was so amused that she said it was worth being woken up for.
Luckily I never actually inked my feelings because the jeering at the mere idea has been brutal. Inked or not, I still stand by my feelings.
I thought of a way that I can "ink" my Mary Poppins people permanently into my life. On Mondays (but not every Monday) I will start honoring some of the people that "the wind" has blown into my life. We shall call it Mary Poppins Monday but since this is my blog and I can write the rules, I will also honor other people in my life. Even some of the constant ones that the wind can never take away from me.
Sound fun? Good then let's start next Monday since this post is already long enough.

i've never thought about a tattoo. I did use to tell my mom i was going to get a nose ring. never followed through though.

I thought this was going in a different direction. I thought we were all going to have to say what kind of tatoo we would get and where (small flower on ankle) but since the prophet advised against it, I'll do without.
As for a person, I have to agree with Bill on Mary Lou. She is like having your own personal Mary Poppins. Had dinner with her on Thursday night and she is still just as beautiful as ever.
Ha-you never cease to crack me up with your off-the-wall...ahem, I mean creative ideas. I have to say getting a Mary Poppins tattoo sounds pretty funny to me, too. I was never into tattoos but I did decide if I ever was into tattoos that I would like to have gotten a tree frog hugging my big toe.
Now on to your theme. I've got a ton of Mary Poppins people to ink into my life, so I'd have to think about choosing just one for now.
Still laughing at the random tattoos! At least you can have the last laugh because you never followed through and don't have to regret it.
I would guess MLL too if it is someone coming and going. I thought of the Nonster right off though, but that would be more of a lifetime achievement award!

I bet your glad you didnt follow through with that one, although Im feeling a little jipped I missed out on seeing that. Its just funny, because tatoos and Mary Poppins or Pete dont really go together. Im picturing a tough biker dude wearing mary, LOL!

Let me be more specific. If the person has had a blog dedicated just to them before it won't be them. That doesn't mean I don't love them, just that I already told you that I love them.
It won't be anyone who has had a b-day blog so siblings and parents are out.
It can be family, and it can be someone permanent. Doesn't have to be be someone who blew in and then out of my life.

That Pete's dragon tattoo would have been pretty dramatic.
I always wanted one but never got one although mine would have been something common like a butterfly on the ankle (used to wear fake ones all the time until about 5 years ago and so a lot of people thought I really had one) and/or a ring of dolphins around a toe or ankle.
So glad I don't have one now though.
I guess i don't understand the concept of the tattoo of petes dragon. Can you draw it?
I know this is not what you are talking about but I wanted a tattoo of CTR on my finger. Then I realized how oximoronic that would be.
