I figured I could at least give an Easter Shout Out. Our Easter week was busy, busy, busy so we didn't celebrate as much as I'd hoped but as long as baskets are full and eggs are hidden on the big day, my kids are happy.
As it turns out, our final day of Super in Six was yesterday. Easter Sunday!!! So at 3:30 AM when we were stuffing eggs and baskets with chocolate, we couldn't even sneak a piece unless we wanted to lose points. But it is over now and I will give you more info when we get everyone's final results but I am already positively positive that I know who won first place and they just might live in this house.
Another thing you might notice in these pictures is a whole lot of crochet. I took a ruffled scarf class and it was so easy that I thought I might be able to handle regular crochet which is not nearly as easy as the scarves were. I took a class to learn the different stitches and practiced by making many scarves and potholders and then I went and learned how to crochet squares together as well which will eventually turn out a blanket. It has been the perfect time for a new hobby because it has kept me from snacking after 8:00. So last week I decided to move on to circles. I took the class on Wednesday and learned how to make hats. Jackie also said that if I doubled the yarn and added a handle I could do Easter baskets. This was on Wednesday so I figured baskets would wait til next year. But then on Thursday I shopped for Easter clothes and came up empty so I decided to make the girls hats to match their Christmas dresses and have them wear those. Since there is not much you can crochet for a boy, I decided he would get a basket. On Friday night I got to work on hats and baskets and stayed up until 3:30 AM. When the girls saw Alex's basket in the morning they wanted baskets too so I stayed up until 3:30 again Saturday night making two more baskets and I even taught myself to do flowers to add to hats and baskets. It was good practice for me and the kids absolutely love their new stuff. Now that I can eat after 8 again, we'll see if I keep the madness going.

Ever since Christmas the kids have been planning to put bunny ears on Bernie and call him the Easter Bernie. As you can see he did not like it and it took two people to hold him just long enough to even get this one picture.
We did also enjoy Easter dinner with the Christiansens. I just didn't have a camera to prove it. So glad they moved back here as they have become our go to hang out for special occasions and my kids love to spend time there. So do we. I don't think they hang out in the blogging world but I will still give them a virtual thanks for having us shout out.
Back tomorrow with Super in Six results but until then I hope you had a great Easter and watch out for those darn April pranksters today!

Very impressive! You must have invisible hands (you know, the kind that move so fast all you see is a blur where the hand should be?) to get all that crocheting done in that amount of time! Love Easter Bernie - too bad he didn't. And those Christmas dresses worked perfect for Easter, too. Way to go!

I knew you had a crafty bug inside of you. Once you get the hang of crocheting then moving onto most any other project is a piece of cake. I taught myself through YouTube, and I still go back there if I forget a particular stitch to refresh my memory. When I started the horses I had to go back and re-learn just a basic single stitch...haha....because it's been that long. I think doing baskets seems difficult, but I'm sure it's just a step-by-step like any other project. All your projects turned out awesome!
