Day Twenty Four- A letter to your parents
I have already talked about my parents a lot and wrote long sappy b-day posts a couple years ago, so today I will keep it simple and specific. This letter is going out to my mom and stepdad who have lost SO much weight in less than a year. I will let my mom post exact amounts if she is comfortable with that but it is BIG folks, like triple digit big for one of them. Wow, right? So anyway, my letter....
Dear Mom and Glenn,
You did it! Congrats! I am SO happy and SO proud...can you say I'm proud of you to your parents? Well I am. This is a major accomplishment, especially in a family likes ours. We like to get our grub on. When I watched you both stay home from all our favorite restaurants while I was there in November I was amazed with your willpower and determination. You both look great, but I am even more excited to know that you are healthy. I love food, but I would have been super mad at it if it had started taking my family from me. Thanks for your example!
Julie
Here is a pretty recent picture of my mom.
She is holding up the 10 because I was harassing her for a picture of her hot new bod so she played along. You'd hold up a 10 too if you looked like that at 58. Hot, right? I don't have a recent picture of Glenn but he looked great at Thanksgiving and has lost lots more since.
And to ALL my parents and parents in law. Come see me! Right now it is 23 degrees, windy as all heck and hailing...you know you're jealous! But for real, please come see me. I miss you all.
*UPDATE* Glenn went to see my mom at her office today and she had a coworker snap a shot to send to me. I can tell by Glenn's face that he was not excited about posing in the lobby for this occasion, but my mom assures me that he will not be offended or embarrassed if I post these.
In case you want before pictures, you can CLICK HERE to link to my post about Nauvoo from July. There you will see my mom and Glenn before this crazy weight loss madness began.

Wowzers! Your mom is hot! Her willpower and determination is amazing and certainly inspiring. I just have a few pounds to lose, and I can't get motivated to just do it. In my defense, "they" say it's the last few that are the hardest to lose.
Congrats, Susie and Glenn!
Wow! Hot Mama' is right! Way to go Aunt Susie! That is so awesome. I have been hearing about the weight loss, and I am so happy to finally see a picture. :) I woukd LOVE to see before and after pictures-although "before" pictures are never as fun to post (at least that's how I always feel). Plus, I am dying to see pictures of Glen. Hey-I might actually SEE you guys (Susie and Glen) on Sunday! I am going to Courtney's ward this Sunday.
Since I don't know your Mom, I have nothing to compare to, but I am so encouraged to know that other people have been able to lose it and keep it off, and lose all of it. I've been in such a frump for months I've about given into the philosophy that it just will not ever come off. But it will - see - you've got parents that prove it. And if your mom can do it at 58, I certainly should be able to,too, shouldn't I???? (even though I know I'd never look that great, even at my skinniest, it's still encouraging to know it can be done!)
Thanks for the shout out. Glenn was really on board with the program and I was dragged along kicking and screaming. He doesn't like to admit to how much he lost but it's well over 100 lbs. He is down to his marriage weight and people keep telling him how much he looks like Steven. I still have about 12 lbs to go to get to my marriage weight but maybe I don't really need to get that low again. This took 6 months of dedication and as Glenn puts it, "I've been munching and grubbing for 50 years, I can take 6months off." Now the hard part - keeping it off. I'll send a pic of Glenn soon.
Haha..."munching and grubbing" should be our family motto. We are going up there today so maybe I'll finally snap a Glenn pic...
Wow! Congrats! They look great. I did go look at the before pictures too and that is amazing how much he lost in that amount of time!
And you're right, your mom is a hottie.
Glenn's transformation is remarkable. Way to go. Now I want to know about this program because I'd really need something to stick to for a few months in order to lost these last "jelly" pounds. Good grief!!
